One thing that a lot of people don’t know (but are happy to find out) is that learning a language is very front heavy, at least in terms of vocabulary. This means that although there are hundreds of thousands of words in any given language learning the most common 2,000 or so will put you in a position where you can say and understand the vast majority of everything.

According to opensubtitles.org, below is a list of the 2,000 most common French subtitles based on their appearances in subtitles. Learning just this list will skyrocket your French comprehension.
